YouTube Gem #5: Ryan Seaton

Sorry I’ve been away for so long. I haven’t had the time to post lately, but have tried to keep up with the latest happenings in Southern Gospel.

The latest YouTube Gem comes from Ryan Seaton. Ryan Seaton was a member of the group Ernie Haase & Signature Sound from 2003 to 2009. On December 28, 2009, it was announced that Ryan left the group and was replaced by Devin McGlamery. Earlier this year, Ryan announced that he was launching a solo career.

However, on October 6, in his hometown of Evansville, Ind., he surprised concertgoers by bringing out three others to sing a few songs as a quartet. Along with Ryan (lead), group members included Toby Hitchcock (tenor), Andrew Goldman (baritone), and Aaron McCune (bass).

It was good to see Ryan back singing with a quartet again, even if it was only a one-night special. It will be interesting to follow whether he decides to join a group again sometime in the future, or possibly even put together a full-time group of his own.
