Since the hiring of their new tenor singer and and bass singer, there has been a bit of a buzz surrounding the Dixie Echoes in anticipation of their new sound. Clips have been posted of their first concert with both new singers. Incredible! Here’s bass Mike Jennings featured on the classic “How Big is God.”
It is believed that the Dixie Echoes had not staged this song since the departure of Pat Barker, and rightfully so. Barker is probably the best bass in Southern Gospel today, and is a very tough act to follow. However, Jennings delivers a top-notch performance that rivals Barker’s. You can also hear new tenor Michael Helwig providing the high notes in the chorus.
The Dixie Echoes are a class act, and they made two excellent hires.
